How do I submit documents for recording to Sarasota County Official Records?

Before submitting documents for recording, please review the Standard Recording Requirements and the Specific Recording Requirements by Document Type.

If your original documents, or certified copies, meet all statutory requirements, they may be recorded in the Official Records in one of 3 ways:

Original documents, recorded in person or by mail, will be returned to the requestor or designated returnee by First Class USPS mail.

Documents for recording are not accepted via email.

How do I access Official Records documents online?

Recorded instruments are viewable, where permitted by law, the following business day (generally after 2:00 PM) by accessing the Sarasota County Official Records.

Do I need an attorney to record a document in Sarasota County?
