The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Sarasota County also serves as the County Comptroller, fulfilling the roles of Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Auditor. Serving as Chief Financial Officer, the Sarasota Clerk and Comptroller oversees the preparation and presentation of several financial statements, in accordance with the Government Accounting Standards Board and other authoritative bodies.

In regard to Finance, the Clerk and Comptroller ensures transparency in the use of public funds and the county’s financial assets. Key responsibilities include documenting the financial transactions of the Board of County Commissioners, managing revenue, and ensuring that vendors and employees are paid.
