Where do I go for help with my child support case?

How do I make child support and/or alimony payments?

All child support and/or alimony payments must be sent directly to the Florida State Disbursement Unit (FLSDU) in Tallahassee. Purge payments may be made directly to the Clerk of Court only to avoid a court-ordered arrest. If making a purge payment following an arrest, the payment must be sent directly to the jail.

IMPORTANT! Include the 7-digit case number with the payment.

To find out when the last payment was posted to your account, please call FLSDU at (877) 769-0251. You will need the 7-digit case number.

Who do I contact about enforcing child support payments?

The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) collects and enforces child support. Contact their office if you have questions about child support payments, in general, or about enforcement of payments:

Why was my Driver’s License suspended in a child support case?

If the Department of Revenue is not enforcing your child support case, the custodial parent has the right to sign a petition to initiate a Driver’s License Suspension of the non-custodial parent. The fee assessed to the non-custodial parent is $25.00.

Where can I find the Respondent's Information Packet and Forms, Title IV-D Child Support?

Parents who are or may be paying child support in cases involving the Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) can find instructions, a court presentation, and other Title IV-D Child Support documents on the 12th Judicial Circuit Court website. Go to IV-D Child Support Respondent's Information and Forms.

The Title IV-D Respondent's Packet costs $3.00 if purchased at the Sarasota County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office. All other forms are $.15 per page.

Why did I receive a Notice of Delinquency/Judgment?

When a non-custodial parent is 15 days delinquent in making a payment, the Clerk of the Circuit Court is required by law to serve a Notice of Delinquency on the non-custodial parent. The fee assessed to the non-custodial parent is $32.44.
