Florida Statutes require that the Clerk of the Circuit Court act as Ex-Officio Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners. The Clerk and Comptroller's Board Records Department maintains an office in the Sarasota County Administration Center in downtown Sarasota, providing products and services to citizens, the Board of County Commissioners, county administration, and county staff.

Board Records staff attends, digitally records, accepts and files paperwork related to various meetings, and produces and maintains minutes of the Board of County Commission, Charter Review Board, Planning Commission and Value Adjustment Board meetings. Board Records also serves as the Clerk and Recorder for Code Enforcement hearings, and maintains custody and control of the seal for the Board of County Commissioners.

Staff members serve citizens by providing copies of meeting minutes and all other official documentation upon request. Board Records business offices are located at 1660 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota, Florida, on the second floor of the Administration Center, Suite 210, or can be reached at (941) 861-5279 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
