
Sarasota, FL— Hon. Karen E. Rushing, Sarasota Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller, is pleased to announce the completion of the Fiscal Year 2025 audit, and the publication of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for Sarasota County.
An electronic version of the ACFR, which includes audited financial statements, statistics, and other supplemental information about the county, is available on the Clerk and Comptroller’s website.
For Fiscal Year 2024, the Clerk and Comptroller proudly received the highest recognition in Governmental accounting and financial reporting for the ACFR, including the Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting, which was awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. This office has accepted this honor yearly since 1984.
About the Clerk and Comptroller
Karen E. Rushing serves Sarasota County as it’s Comptroller and Treasurer. As Comptroller, Ms. Rushing serves as custodian of all county funds providing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions, as well as financial reporting. As Treasurer, Ms. Rushing manages the overall banking relationships for county government and invests Sarasota County’s public funds to maximize investment earnings while minimizing risk for an average investment portfolio of $1.8 billion.
