The Public Access Department provides citizens access to many of the records held by the Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller for Sarasota County. Official Records from the year 1921 to present are available on microfilm and electronically. Pursuant to Supreme Court of Florida Administrative Order 15-18 Standards for Access to Electronic Court Documents and Security Matrix, the general public is now permitted to view many court records online. The full version of the Administrative Order is available on the Supreme Court of Florida website. Inactive records may need to be obtained from storage for review; you may call ahead to request a court record for review. For your convenience, Public Access fills copy requests for customers unable to visit business offices.
Records Search Requests are accepted by mail, with a check or money order made payable to the Sarasota County Clerk of Circuit Court and County Comptroller, and by phone or fax when payment is made by credit card (Please note that credit card transactions are subject to a 3.5% processing fee, charged by a third-party payment provider, MyFloridaCounty.com). When making a request using a credit card, customers should include the card number, expiration date, name on the credit card, the billing address including zip code, and the three or four digit CVV code on the back of the card, for added security.
