The Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller serves as the ministerial arm of the courts. The Clerk and Comptroller acts as custodian of the court's records, and performs such duties as are enjoined by statute or imposed by lawful authority of the court. It is the duty of the Clerk and Comptroller to make and keep an accurate record of the proceedings in court and of the courts' orders and adjudications.

The Court Services Department of the Clerk and Comptroller's office provides operational data for management and planning, as well as compiling and monitoring statistics for the State Court Administrator's Office.
