Clerk and Comptroller Supports National Sunshine Week, March 12-18, 2017
In recognition of National Sunshine Week, the Sarasota County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller would like to remind citizens that many e-products and services are available year-round for accessing public information online, on demand, or in person.
- The Clerk and Comptroller offers a one-stop online resource for public record searches and viewing. Public records searches offer electronic records of marriage license, official records, land records, and more. Available 24/7 at SarasotaClerk.com.
- Court Records are available for viewing, 24/7, on demand, through a secure web-based application called ClerkNet. Complete a User Registration, or log on as a General Public User to access Sarasota County case filings. Confidentiality standards are established by Florida Supreme Court, who determines the user’s level of access.
- Meetings on Demand: A video and document archive of Sarasota County Commission meetings is available to citizens 24/7. Research and watch at your convenience, on demand. Agendas and supporting documentation is also available for review.
- Financial Reports Online: This portal for audit, performance measure and financial reporting includes the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), the Consolidated Major Revenue and Debt Report, the IMPACT (or Popular Annual Financial Report) for Sarasota County, as well as annual reports, timeliness and performance measures, strategic planning guides and budgets.
Public Access offices offer computer stations at both the Venice Full-Service Branch, located at the Robert L. Anderson Administration Center, 4000 South Tamiami Trail in Venice, FL, and the Main Office at the Historic Courthouse, 2000 Main Street, downtown Sarasota, FL.
Citizens are free to search databases of public records, online foreclosure sale applications, and partner websites such as the County Property Appraiser or the 12th Judicial Circuit Court. Additional records are also available on microfiche and microfilm.
The Public Access Department provides citizens access to many of the records held by the Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller for Sarasota County. Official Records from the year 1921 to present are available on microfilm and electronically. Requests can also be made by fax (941) 861-7738 or by emailing a request to PAGroup@scgov.net.
