Value Adjustment Board Seeks Citizen Representative
The Value Adjustment Board of Sarasota County (VAB) is looking for a citizen representative.
The Board consists of two members of the Board of County Commissioners, one member of the County School Board, and two Citizen representative members. The VAB meets 3 to 5 times each year to hear petitions filed by taxpayers about their property assessments, exemptions, classifications, etc.
Individuals who wish to serve as a Citizen Representative on the VAB must:
- Own homestead property within Sarasota County;
- May not be a member or employee of any taxing authority; and
- May not be a person who represents property owners, property appraisers, tax collectors, or taxing authorities in any administrative or judicial review of property taxes.
