SARASOTA, FL—— The Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller warns citizens of the resurgence of a common jury duty scam: Citizens are being called and informed that there is a warrant for their arrest for having missed jury duty. The callers identify themselves as a Law Enforcement official.
Please note that neither Sheriff nor Clerk of Court employees make requests of jurors for payment of fines over the telephone, and do not request personal financial information.
